We have returned from the outreach which was based at Millisle Baptist Church, the home church of Amy Carmichael, missionary to India and founder of Dohnavur Fellowship. One of the church leaders there is a dear friend to WGI and has served in South Africa on two mission teams.  The update of the trip is below.

The outreach included daily children's Bible clubs, youth work, and men & ladies events. In addition there was door-to-door evangelism and nightly revival and mission services.

  • Number of mission activities:    27 [services, conferences, nursing home, youth event, Bible Clubs, visitation, etc...]

  • Professions of faiths:                8  [These were all adults, two while we were on the ground, six after our return]

  • Contacts while witnessing:    221 [Most of these were in house to house visitation]

  • Tracts distributed:                420 [These included from the time we left home until the time we returned]

  • Bibles and Bible portions:       77 [We love to give out the Word of God because there is a promise it will not return void]

  • Number of preaching events: 20 [Pastor John Doyle covered half of the meetings while Pastor Lon Chenowith the other]


Highlights of the week from the team: hospitality of the hosts, fellowship with Millisle Baptist Church, Children's Bible Clubs, door to door
visitation, and the final night of the services.

WGI will work to take mission teams to the field for evangelistic outreach, discipleship, and a ministry of encouragement. The mission will seek to make these projects life-changing experiences for both those who go and those who benefit from the teams. WGI will utilize Bible and Gospel tract distribution as well as other services that will build up the partnering ministries in the host countries. We will seek to provide these vital services especially in Gospel hungry places.
