We’re thankful to report what the Lord has done through the team sent out by Baptist Home Church:
We went to Iquitos, Peru, in August 2011 and spent a week in the villages along the Amazon. We did medical and dental clinics for five villages, washed feet and gave away sandals, provided dolls for the village girls and sports items for the children, had a food distribution station, led 67 youth and adults to profess faith in the Lord Jesus for the first time, conducted eight Gospel services, and distributed Bibles, tracts, and Gospel coins at every location in our work with Amazon Medical Missions.
One of our young men, who is training to become a doctor, gave away his guitar to a village who did not have one. A middle aged man who had a lame leg was carried on to the boat into the medical examination room and a Peruvian doctor and an American physician performed surgery to remedy the ankle wound. One village had never had a team come to share a Gospel witness. A Peruvian pharmacist for Amazon Medical Missions, who had served for ten years, gave his life to the Lord Jesus on one of the final days of the mission.
From the break of day along the Amazon to the setting of the sun when we gave fresh testimonies on the deck above the waters, the Holy Spirit was at work. We give the Father in Heaven glory due unto His name.
